2016 DAB WORLD TOURNAMENT

**YOU HAVE UNTIL FINAL GAME (FEB 7TH) TO SIGN UP! PRIZE LIST IS UPDATED. TELL ANYONE INTERESTED!**

It's here! After months of waiting it is finally going to happen. We are going to kick off the new year and Stormy's hard work of pushing through updates with a world tournament! Complete with prizes and location-specific matches.

LOCATION: There will be 2 different groups in play, the West group and the East group. The West group covers from Alaska, U.S.A to Iceland (So all of North America and South America). The East group will be Portugal/Ireland to Russia. We may or may not have a 3rd group for Austrailia and New Zealand depending on response to the tournament. I decided to have group matches so that different Pings would not hurt gameplay and ultimately chances to win.

SETUP/RULES: There will be 2 official matches for each group. You may only play in 1 group, however you are allowed to play in 2 tournament matches if space allows. The score will be determined by total Style at the end of the match. If you play in 2 matches, you would use your best score of the 2 as your final score. Yes, this does mean that if you play 2 matches you will increase your chance of getting a better score.

DATE: Tournament matches will be held on Sunday 17th, and Sunday the 24th. Winners will be announced on Sunday the 31st. Specific times are still being worked out, but plan on them being around 2-4pm for both groups. I may or may not host practices on the Sundays before the tournament begins.

(1 set of prizes, winners will be overall from both groups. Meaning 1st place can be USA while 2nd place can be Europe, and vice versa)

I can look into making them secure, though it is just as easy for a hacker to make a new account that does not have VAC on it. I will be overseeing all of the matches and keeping a lookout for hackers during gameplay either way.

Yes, at this time I simply do not have the manpower to do more and have it done properly. Keeping track of dozens of player scores across many games takes a lot of time I don't have. If there is enough response to the tournament in the next week and there is a need for more matches I will do it that way. There may also be other events in the future if this one is popular.

Yeh not even sure on how many entrants we're going to have. Have you started taking names yet Leo? Maybe we can start a google doc, make a flowchart or something.

I'm going to use the DAB Competetive Group to start a list. Most of the entrants aren't vocal on the forums but I know we should have a good showing of skilled players. I should have clarified that on the original post.

I will make an updated post soon for the purpose of recording names, I still have to nail down the specific times since either I or one of my clan-mates will need to be present to observe the game. I've been sick the last couple days so I haven't gotten much done. Expect a post in the next 48 for signups and times!!

I'm a little late, but I'm going to be posting signups and exact times tonight. I decided to extend the amount of games that are going to be played so I had to also figure out times as well. I have it all sorted though and all of that information will be posted tonight. the tournament may or may not be extended as necessary depending on how many join and how long it takes the word to get out

What will happen, is I will change the name of the server to TOURNAMENT SERVER USA or EUROPE. I will allow all to join, and then lock the server at the allotted game time. I will allow non-tournament members to play during tournament times, however, their scores will not be counted. In order for your points to be tracked you NEED TO SIGN UP.

DAB TOURNEY UPDATE AND SIGNUPS

First off, thank you all for your patience. I want this to be as successful as possible. Here the details for the tournament. **Please read** as there have been some changes. BE EARLY TO ALL MATCHES AS SERVER WILL BE LOCKED ON THE HOUR.

Jan 24: 3:00pm, 4:00pm, 5:00pm
Jan 31: 7:00pm, 8:00pm, 9:00pm
Feb 7: 4:00pm, 6:00pm, 8:00pm

USA Group Game Times (EST)
Jan 24: 3:00pm, 4:00pm, 5:00pm

All games will last one hour. There will be a 10 minute practice period at the beginning of the game. After that, one standard DAB match will be played for 20 minutes and end at 20 mins. After 20 minutes, there will be a 10 min break. YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE SERVER DURING BREAK, THIS WILL BE COUNTED AS FORFEIT. After this break another 20 minute game will be played. When this is over the total score will be tallied.
When the tournament is over all scores will be added and averaged (This way, someone that plays 5 games will not have an advantage over those that cannot do more than one game, but those who play more games still have a better chance at first place. The highest average style score is the winner.

Rules:
1. Standard game play rules will apply.
2. No hacking/cheating! (Duh) I will be present at all games to spectate.
3. A dive-punching only play style is not advised, but permitted.
4. You may play as many one hour periods as you wish. Your score will be kept for each game.
5. Any pings over 150 will not be allowed to participate, so be sure to attend the right group.
