This is ridiculous, I have a great gaming machine and I get a black screen everytime i launch DR3
I use an Nvidia card that is always ran steam games really well, but I can't even play this game. How do i go about getting a refund? This is just terrible scripting.

UPDATE: This gets even better! I try downloading a fix FROM THESE VERY FORUMS and I wind up getting an awesome virus. thank you DR3 forums for moderating this so diligently.

If you find the time would you like to report the post containing this "fix".

There is no reason you should trust a "fix" download link from some random person on steam forums...

When a fix does come out, it will most likely be automatically downloaded via steam.
There is a slight chance it will be doled out by capcom or maaaybe Nvidia via a driver update.
But there is 0% chance they will rely on random community members to link it on forums.

You should never be downloading links given by strangers, especially without scanning them for viruses first.

Still waiting on that report, go ahead and paste the link to the post here if you like so I may delete the post & ban the user if he wasn't already.

It's nothing to do with nvidia - a bunch of gamers (myself included) haven't experienced any crashes.

Try running the DirectX executables again - a handful of people said that worked for them

here's an idea. Instead of ranting like a loon, why don't you post some specs and we'll try to help you.

Have you done all the usual nonsense? update OS, redist's and drivers? closed other open programs, etc etc?

Could be a false positive depending on what the "fix" alters, and how aggressive your virus protection is.

I still would avoid DL'ing any supposed fixes from random steam users for any game in the future.

What if people post something with good intentions, something that happens to contain a virus which said poster is oblivious to the existence of? I think you best be certain of intent before simply banning people.

If I post something I've found elsewhere I generally test it out myself before passing it on. But "stuff" happens even if there's no malicious intent behind it.

Anywho, I thought you'd have to be particularly committed to contracting a virus, to actually end up with one, these days. Any AV worth anything would block anything remotely acting like a virus.

What graphics card are you using? The card you claim is so excellent may infact suck.
ISSA_Humps 19 Sep, 2014 @ 10:11am
used the new nvidia drivers and it made a huge difference no fps drops (locked 30) and no crashes for the first time....i was finally able to play for hours instead on 10 min
