Similarities and differences with Minecraft? No "rip-off" trolling, please.
What are the similarities and differences with Minecraft? Is it just placing blocks and buildings? Can I craft items? Are there any more games than racing and bouncing balls?

They don't have much to do with each other, aside from that they involve blocky pieces. Blockland is like Gmod + LEGO - you start with an empty world, build it up with LEGO-y pieces, and add in vehicles and weapons and game modes like deathmatch and speedkart. Also, the original freeware version of Blockland came out in 2004 (Retail Blockland was 2007), while Minecraft came out in 2009.

Both have grid based building. That's really the only major thing they have in common

Okay, but I asked for the differences. What can I do different in this game? That's what I want to know.

there's mods for that, yes, but you may need to install the rtb mod manager to do that.

i think they did once, during the very first years of it, where they used minifigures.
now they use a limbless blockhead thing.

If there's one argument to make on "Blockland Vs Minecraft" .... Blockland was first

I remember playing that game WAY back when I was in college... and it's a MUCH simpler than it is now; I just saw the trailer... and they've gone an INCREDIBLE way from merely being a small Lego platform in an environnement with basic placement and building.

As others said, this game came way before minecraft. Its more like legos really, epic game. I didnt get it yet but i remember playing it for hundreds of hours (the trial/demo i believe) in the past.
