Greyfox Peak (Custom Map) [WIP DOWNLOAD INSIDE]
So i've decided to share this with you all, ive only worked on it for about 3 hours (including the 2 hours to export the heightmap from WM) and it's coming along nicely

Download my WIP here: {LINK REMOVED}

To install it just
1. Download it
2. Unzip it into the SNOW levels directory
3. Launch the game
4. Open up the console with the " ~ " key
5. Type in " map Greyfox_Lake " and hit enter
6. It should load up and you can play! (Please remember that it is a WIP)

ps: If you notice a problem with the level, send me a message or post in the comments telling where the problem is and what it is and I'll fix it ASAP!

Here are 2 photos

Peak B (Greyvixen): will work on it sometime later

Edit: Take note that Time of Day and many other visual settings are set to make work editing easier on my eyes, the final visuals will be much more appealing and after I dissect Sialia's TOD it will look great!
------------------------------------

A few things I've noticed attempting to make a level from scratch using the assets from SNOW imported into CryEngine SDK

1. Using the methods that have been previously stated to get SNOW into CryEngine SDK make the engine EXTREMELY BUGGY!

1a. Do NOT open or click these things--> Flowgraph Editor, Enable AI/Physics (These crash the engine instantly)

1b. Particles don't seem to work

1c. Calculating Terrain Sky Accessibility seems to crash the engine (this is why my terrain appears dark grey in the distance)

2. Ctrl+G doesn't work whatsoever. For those unfamiliar this allows you to enter the game instantly to test the environment/game. This also sometimes crashes the engine.

3. I'm still unsure how to test the level in game. I would assume that it is possible, but I've yet to test to see what works.

-------------------------------------

Reminder, this is more or less a test level. If, by chance, I finish the level I will allow others to use it/edit it/make videos with it. I will need permission from Poppermost Productions before doing this however.

I will keep this page updated with photos/videos as I make progress so keep an eye out!

If you have any questions please feel free to leave them! I will try and respond to as many as possible!

Also, if you are trying to figure out CryEngine 3 watch some of my tutorials here: https://www.youtube.com/user/klln4mny

Update 1

The red blocks are size references so that I get jumps/gaps correct and what not.

The pure white areas you see on the ground are there to help me figure out where to put general paths

Update 2

WIP #2 of Greyfox Peak

This is just showing off on of the tunnel sections near the top of the mountain.

The orange sun will be changed, I was just messing around with the TOD

Also, when the level layout is finished I will add in "Global Illumination", it won't be a calculated GI or the Realtime one in CE but rather a set up of lights that will make the scene really pop.

Update 3

WIP #3 of Greyfox Peak

Adding more tunnels and more open areas
----------------------------------------
After Update 3 or 4 I will begin posting exclusively in the comments in order to keep this thing from becoming to large.
----------------------------------------
Added a temp. banner for the level, see above.

Hey,

Nice work, are you basing the peak on any real mountain?

As to your post about CryEngine being buggy with SNOW, I have found out the hard way by crashing it multiple times. Also do not open the CryEngine multiplayer window as it will crash also. On to WM : I just installed and activated it. Now I need to figure out what I am doing :D

Well, one quick thing. Do NOT cancel a render in WM as it freezes the program. The renders can take a while.

Nope, I'm just going by what would be fun for me to play! Big jumps and cool scenery!

I am still learning about WM, going to watch something on youtube to figure out what I am doing. I am using WM 2.2, is there a 2.3 somewhere?
Tim 1 Jan, 2014 @ 12:17pm
I'm running 2.2 as well, it works just fine. If you have any questions about WM you can ask me, I don't mind!

I saw some stuff on Youtube about WM but whatever they were doing definitely was not happening on my end lol... so sure fire away with some help!

I just sent you a friend request, I'll talk you through the process. Using the forum takes way too long. I'm also up for Skyping if anyone needs help with CE or WM!

How have you made your terrain?
My terrain starts to lag when I flood it with snow. Do you know why?
