Pre-Purchase Fist Puncher (DE). DE?
Does it mean that this is censored in Germany? I heard there's a Hitler Stage in the game..

Yes, there is one Hitler-related stage that had to be slightly altered for German players. Otherwise the game is identical.

The truth hurts... I´m sorry granom, i watched and played on your site and was about to buy til i read that. Pretty cool game i think.
I dont have a prob with cut / uncut versions caused by violence. But that is castrating the humor of the game and destroys my buying interest.

Thanks for the anwer. I guess you only changed the swastikas? That would be ok.

Can you elaborate what the exact differences are compared to the normal version?
Thank you.

Funny that there not saw the swastikas in super house of dead ninjas... :D

Hey, everyone. We were not super excited to have to change that level but we did it (hopefully) in a way that kept the humor intact while still conforming with the guidelines for a German release. Basically we had to replace the swastikas with iron crosses and remove references to Hitler. (Level name "Hitler Birthday Party" was changed to "Racist Birthday Party" -- which we all thought was pretty funny, actually.)

Otherwise the Nazi and KKK enemies are still in the level and everything else is the same. One of the major concerns is depicting Nazis in a heroic light...but don't worry, you punch 'em in the face.

So, why is it not marked as censored? I don't want to have any censored game in my library! Now I have the choice to let it delete from Steam and loose my money or keep a censored game.

@ Der Erloeser: all I can say is we did what was asked of us by Valve (who, of course, are most likely influenced by the policies of the German government). It wasn't a decision by us (the developer) or Adult Swim (the publisher). The change is VERY minor so I wouldn't really worry about it. Anyway, there's not much we can do. If it's really an issue, I would take it up with Valve (or even the German government). It's Valve's playground so we all need to play by their rules.

I know that you had no chance to publish it uncut. They are censoring nearly everything here. But there are still legal ways to get a uncut version. Other games in Steam contain warnings about censorship, so we are able to identify them. But this game has no warning and so I paid 2,50€ for nothing but the trouble to get it deleted from my account.

@ Der Erloeser: Deleting the game because a few sprites are changed seems a little harsh. But if that's what you feel you need to do, then I respect your decision.
Der Erloeser 30 Jun, 2014 @ 12:56pm
It doesn't matter what is censored, it only matters that it is censored. It should be clearly visible for everybody, so he or she can decide if it is acceptable or not. I feel betrayed now.

I'm sorry you're so upset about it. I honestly recommend writing a letter to Valve explaining your opinion on the matter. I understand where you're coming from, but there's no standardized place for us to put the information that you wanted. The storefront is limited to what is provided in the developer portal. Nonetheless, we've been very up front and honest about the issue in threads like this (this thread has been up for over a year) and in any other threads where people have asked about the German version. We're not trying to hide anything or "betray" anyone. We're just trying to do our best to follow the rules that Valve lays out. If we didn't, then we'd be stuck peddling our game elsewhere.
Der Erloeser 30 Jun, 2014 @ 11:00pm
Well, there is a standardized place for this kind of information. See here and here. It is a shame that Valve did not inform you about this.

Writing a letter to Valve is hopeless, because they never care or give any refunds in such situations. It is also impossible to activate an uncut version if you alreay possess the cut version. I could count myself lucky if they delete it when I renounce any refunds.

Thanks for your care anyway, I see you did the best you can. Please consider adding such an orange box to inform other users about the situation.

I just bought it, because it was on sale. To my surprise it was censored (Fist Puncher (DE)). You should at least mention it on the store page... then i hadn't bought it... damn. Without a notice on the store page i feel cheated.
