Good news on netcode issues
Thanks to the amazing investigative work of Miggoh, we have a reason for the inconsistent netcode behaviour. It corroborates earlier reports that the problem would happen in matchmaking but not invites.

When you start matchmaking you get bombarded with matchmaking requests and it's not shut off. Those are hogging your bandwidth, which is what's driving up the ping to ridiculous numbers. The reason we didn't see this prior to shipping is that we didn't have 1000s of people playing the game...

We'll be singing your praises to SNK for the Steam community's help in sussing out some of the major launch bugs so quickly. Your input will help us get you updates so much faster. Thanks everyone!

I'm very happy to hear everything was figured out! I hope you guys can release a patch soon.
So, can you fix it in the next day or two?

And why did SNKP shut down the idea of a Beta release when the same was doen with KOF13 (which was developed in house).

Also, I had the exact same problem and I was using Invite Only.

We're going to work on this first thing in the morning, for sure, but we don't want to rush out fundamental changes without a reasonable amount of testing, so let's see how it goes...

Well, the act of opening the lobby can start the flood it seems. The game may have to be completely exited and restarted to stop it. Though of course there may be other netcode problems lurking too, but we are optimistic.

Good job on figuring out so fast what the problem is. Pokeshark identified the same problem a while ago on USF4 but Capcom decided to do nothing. Hope you guys can make lobbies work acceptably. Even KOF13 level is fine for me.

I was wondering the same thing, devs. What was SNKP's reasoning for not allowing at least a 1-2 week testing period? It actually helped KOF 13 PC's release.

I feel kinda bad that we essentially paid for a beta.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I was really looking forward to the multiplayer as this is my favorite KoF.....now, if SNK would just bring out Samurai Shodown, I'd be a happy camper

Hrm. The thing is, that's exactly what they said about Ultra and it was never really resolved. Your quick response is awesome though, good luck.

If you patch it out, maybe Capcom could do with doing something similar for USF4.

Would've prevented this from happening and the negative reviews if you'd listen from day one to conduct a beta.

Umm, Capcom knew this and they still could not fix it. Anyway I hope yall can find a fix.

I hope now you going to run closed beta test for KOF02 before releasing the game.
KOFXIII was tested in closed beta for whole month i believe and game works good both offline and online modes.

that's basically the same problem USF4 has. So this is something Steam related?
