A ton of changes Overkill should consider. [Discontinued]

Currently the list will not be updated by myself anymore.
Due to stress, not liking PAYDAY 2 anymore
and furthermore not having enough time to.
Your ideas will not be reviewed and the list will not be updated currently.

Thanks to everyone for sticking around this long.
The list as it is now will be in the hands of the moderators.
It is upon them to either delete it, update it's current state or renew it.


IMPORANT: Guidelines of Usage
-1 If you post an idea, I do not expect you to read down the entire list. There's simply too much of the list now. What you can do is press Ctrl + F to search through the list for keywords if your idea has already been posted.
-2 Please try not be unreasonable if you have any ideas, try to be abled to change and discuss your idea.
-3 Do not bluntly say someone's idea or suggestion sucked, give them a reason and opinion.
-4 Please keep in mind that PAYDAY 2 is it's own game and try not to copy things directly from other games. Comparing with other games is fine.
-5 Don't try to completely rework the game and try not to suggest things that won't make sense.

List organisement.

Purpose

This list's purpose is to organize the ideas of the community slightly more, making Overkill's Job easier. With that Overkill does monitor this list because OVERKILL_Andreas contacted me to talk about this list. He said that they took notice of it and they're busy adding and discussing stuff that's on it. He also wanted to encourage people into posting on this thread, so if you could send people a link of this to your friends or other threads you see that have a good idea, it would be greatly appreciated.
I'll keep you guys updated about the future of this.

!X!-1 Ability to move items that are in your inventory.

!X!-6 Jungle Magazines, explanation: By clipping or taping two magazines together, you don't need to reach all the way back into your vest or belt for a mag. Just turn it around. !X!-7 Ye Olde Hoxton, ofcourse.

!X! - 8 Dual Wield Pistols. Would work similair to LMGs, no aiming, though higher accuracy and +10% more badass-ness. [Next Gage Weapon Pack?]

!X! -9 Melee hitting a civie will stun them / knock them out instead of killing them.
A knocked out civie will will lie on the ground for a few seconds (5-15 sec), then will get up.

!X! -10 Change the chatbox to saving the current chat for about every mission (also more-day missions.) (Now it deletes itself everytime a mission moves on to a lobby/planning phase.)

!X! -11 Instruction disabling option.

!X! -12 Reduce the XP reduction when in custody, Give XP bonus for trading someone out of custody with a civie / intimidated cop.

!X!-13 Halloween masks were hard to get last year because of the other item drops. Suggesting balancing the drop rates a bit more when Halloween hits.

!X!-14 Edit the Techinician's tier bonusses, since +5% price reduction isn't helping most people. (Suggesting: Increased Sentry Health, Increased Accuracy for Rifles, Increased Sentry ammo, etc.)

!X!-15 In stealth, being abled to open things and hide in them. (Closets, lockers, trashcans etc.)

!X!-16 More small icons above entities under various (stealth) circumstances.
Such as:
Cameras under infinite loop ( ∞ Infinite loop symbol as icon?)
Untied civillians. ( Cable tie icon with an X through it / (red) lying down human icon?)
Cuffed guards ( Cuffs icon / Gun icon?)
Tied civillians. ( Cable tie icon / lying down human (blue)?)

!X!-17 Fix the Keycard interaction hitbox on armed security doors.

!X!-18 Being abled to swap between saved skilltrees for 50%-90% of the skilltree's cost.

!X!-19 All dumpsters being openable, if possible.

!X!-20Mask Inventory Increase.

!X!-21 Make the highest guard count less or equal to 4 on Jewelry store / Ukranian Job.

!X!-22 When someone is loading, make the chat still function the same. (No idea why it's greyed out and you have to click it again to typ, even if you did that you still can't see what you've typed, but can send it.)

!X!-23 Iron sights mod on a rifle (would increase concealment too).

!X!-24 Give the ECM Jammer an outline that'll change from green to orange to red when running out of time.

!X!-25 Changes and buffs for skills that are rarely being used:

Control Freak
Basic: In addition to what it already does, can now move surrendered enemies.

Stockholm Syndrome
Basic: Now works on tied Civilians too.
Ace: Works on surrendered enemies, but also frees them similarly to when they are traded in.

Camera Loop
Basic:In addition to what it already does,guards that pass in front of a looped camera are highlighted automatically.

Combat Engineer
Ace: Sensor mode trip mines now mark guards that trigger them in stealth. In combat, they mark specials that trigger them.

Sentry Combat Upgrade
Ace: Interacting with a destroyed turret allows you to repair it (20 second interaction timer) at the cost of 1 primary mag.

!X!-26 Trip Mines' sensor spot specials in loud and guards in stealth. They'll flicker blue once when someone walks through the sensor in stealth and loud.

!X!-27 Detection in stealth seems to be determined on the host's side, so you can be detected by a guard based on inaccurate position data. Detection of players (as opposed to objects like broken things and bags) should be handled on the client's side - then this would not happen anymore.

!X!-28 DLC "Packages" (Use of this is below the packs.)

Season 1: Crimewave.
The Payday Gang is Back and in typical fashion have set their sights on a series of potentially lucrative Armored Convoys. With New Toys provided by their weapons Dealer, Gage, it's time to get D.C's Crimewave started in true Payday Style!

- Contains Gage Weapon Pack 01, Gage Weapon Pack 02, and The Armored Transport DLC. (Basically a Purchaseable PC version of the new upcoming Crimewave Edition of Payday 2 for Next Gen systems.)
Suggested Price Range: 11-12$ (Save Approximately 1-2$ Per Piece of DLC)

Season 2: Dental Plan.
A new player steps into the scene, The Dentist. His offer is simple, Help Him, and He'll help you. He starts things off with a truly historic Bank Job, but with a new shipment of weapon equipment, gadgets and high powered Sniper Rifles from their weapons dealer, Gage, the Payday Gang are ready to crack this little piggy wide open.

- Contains Gage Mod Courier, Gage Sniper Pack, and The Big Bank DLC.
Suggested Price Range: 11-12$ (Save Approximately 1-2$ Per Piece of DLC)

Season 3: Jailhouse Party.
The Dentist is keeping good on his promise, and now it's time to start knocking over the last few dominoes before the crew can rescue their teammate from prison. Armed with a slew of new, high powered, Rifles and Shotguns from Gage, the Payday Gang is ready to get up close and personal with the Commissar, and end his little party.

- Contains Gage Shotgun Pack, Gage Assault Pack, and The Hotline Miami DLC.
Suggested Price Range: 9-12$
(Save Approximately 1-2$ Per Piece of DLC, Lower Estimate Assumes ownership of Hotline Miami Game and the DLC price reduction given for said ownership)

(Basic idea is to pair two 5$ Pack DLC's with one 7$ Heist DLC, then knock about 2$ off the price of each part. Still cheaper than buying each part individually, but not giving anything away for ridiculously cheap either. Also makes it a bit less daunting of an initial purchase for new players, as they won't need to hunt down and buy every piece of DLC)
!X!-29 When you play Rats, the two seen are Overpass or Garage. Why not see Street or Cafe at night? Alternatively, why not see Overpass and Garage on one-day jobs?
And how about some chopper escape missions? Having the pilot emergency land on a roof, and we have to move the loot to the street for a van, or another roof for chopper pickup.
!X!-30 A Skill/mod for the Enforcer (maybe called something like "Oiled Blade")
that'll silence your saw more.
!X!-31 Saw Mods: Carbon Blades made a Mod instead of a skill, maybe extra Saws, Thicker Saws (Saws slower in 1 press so you can saw more at the cost of 1 saw-click-thing.) Saw Edges (Have a chance of not consuming Saw durability.)
!X!-32 Hosts being abled to draw out a plan in the Planning Phase on the heist's blueprint.
Needs a voteskip + maybe some more ideas to avoid trolls. (Added in the form of Dentist's preplanning.)
!X! -33 Add another sight thats the old Holosight with a cross and a circle.
!X! -34 Give the ECM Jammer an outline that'll change from green to orange to red when running out of time.
!X! -35 Different grenade types
!X! -36 Make a couple of more models to completely burn down the cash on Firestarter Day 3 and so that it stops completely after a while. ([!] If possible make an animation for the money actually burning down.)
!X! -37 Being abled to mark through windows with the Theia scope.

-Customizable Suits, Shirts, Ties for your character. (A Suit Wardrobe in the SafeHouse once this gets added?)

-Change ECM Jammers into EMP Devices, also giving them a graphical effect disabling lights and electronical devices as an addition to what they normally do already.

-Longer heists variate between music, so that you don't hear 1 song the entire time through.

-Reskin Shields and Tazers for Deathwish to have Gensec Camos. Also FBI Shotgunners be replaced with the Trailer's Elite shotgunners.

-Being abled to assign a mask to a character (for example: wear the Hockey mask whenever a player plays as Hoxton, or I wear Kawaii whenever I'm Wolf etc.)
-Add a sound when headshotting Maximum response units (or more)'s helmets. A metal ding-ish sound.
(In Payday: The Heist, heavy SWAT used to wear helmets with a ballistic visor that would shatter upon a head shot. It also made a distinct, and satisfying shattering sound when it happened. In Payday 2, there are no such units that wear ballistic visors anymore except maybe the taser, however, I think just for the aesthetic, certain units which wear heavily armored helmets should have a unique sound that plays when they die by a head shot. Think similar to the bulldozer's sound when you shoot at his visor. )

-Option to enable when near a radio, make the radio's music play loud / overtake the mission's overall music.
-
-Have body bags spit out a bit of blood when thrown / meleed.

-Have an NPC cop (maybe the FBI guy) that'll point at cops directing them and having his hand always on his earpiece. When in the range of a heister he'll drop that behavior instantly and try to shoot the heisters.

-Players say their revive lines when reviving another player / bot. (The ones that bots say.)

-Make it so ejected shells stay on the ground for a bit of time. (As of now, shells disappear immediately when they hit the ground). Effects quality determines the time of shells laying on the ground.

-Make muzzle flashes a bit more clear.

It'd also help players use cameras more effectively as players can actually move cameras to create black spots, so your teammates won't be spotted.

-Make the colors in the preview screens and menus selectable varying from several colors. Black, Yellow, Red, Blue etc.

-Being abled to switch back to the default van when having bought the Overkill DLC pack.



Gameplay

-Ability to shoot the wires cops sometimes come down from. Would be fun to see them come down from bigger buildings, or buildings where snipers come down from in addition to this.
-
-* More variations * in maps that'll be effected by difficulty. (Election day is a great example to stuff like this.)
1 The number of display cases varies in Jewelry Store.
2 Overkill / DW Bank Heists will have metal detectors.
3 More loose cash in missions.
4 Random entrances to the Rats day 2's appartments; sometimes the stairs in the back will be gone, sometimes it's the front one
5 Mallcrasher in particular would benefit specifically from more escape zones - instead of having the helicopter always land in one place (by the bag store), have it appear on the opposite side of the mall, or even outside where you spawn.

-Fix hitboxes of cops arms/legs

-Guards and civillains make various noises and do various things so that you can hear them coming in stealth. (Let's make those expressionless guys come alive!)
For example:
Sneezes, coughs.
Humming to a song.
Playing around with their handguns.
Speaking to the pager operator about things. (The news, the weather, McKendrick, the PayDay gang?)
Footstep sounds.
Scraping their shoesoles on the floor.

-Decrease map limit / Bring civillian spawns closer to the actual map.
-
-Having guards inspect (body, painting, loot) bags for 2-5 seconds. (Maybe variates seconds per difficulty) Just like inspect broken cameras for some time before telling the Operator.

-Bipods for LMGs. This would require a new animation, places where you can actually deploy the bipod/stand(window ledges are IMHO a good place to start), and of course, deploying a bipod would require several seconds, and make you immobile, you could just turn the LMG 45 or 90 degrees, and be "ucked" as soon as a shield pop out.
Regarding stats, I think having our accuracy and stability doubled or have a +60 % bonus would be good. (Being abled to aim while bipods are placed?)

-Framing Frame Day 1: Being abled to disable the blocking lasers if:
(Not all necessairily.)
-1 The Camera guy has been taken down.
-2 A Motion Device / Remote Controll has been found on one of the guards.
-3 You carry a body bag with a guard in it and come close to the laser.

-Guards planning to investigate something will have a magnifying glass icon above them.
-
-Ability to look through Keyholes. (Would function the same as cameras, only 1 available camera screen and no screen effects.)
-
-If Civillians spotted a bag they investigate the bag first, if it's a body bag they'll be in shock of whats inside, if it's a loot bag, they'll try to return it or take it.

-Guards not being abled to see you the slightest bit from behind.
-
-When a team is on his last down (aka has a grey screen) he'll call out for a medipack and gets a(n skull) icon above his head / name.
-
-Being abled to detonate C4 / Tripmines from a distance. (Due to sniper update) It would be cool to have like the first few Technician tiers get a skill or a tier bonus that detonates your Tripmines. When pressed [Mouse3](?) and have tripmines in sight, all tripmines in the crosshair area will explode. It would boost the actual use of the tripmines.
Maybe include having to switch to a certain mode, for example a (white outlined) Remote mode.

-Nerf the bots a bit on lower difficulties (so that they don't become tanks there). And buff them on higher difficulties (so that they don't become completely useless there).
-
-Have a small chance (7%?) of special cops spawning on Normal. They would have lower health, less damage and more specific attributes below:

1 Shields turn more slowely
2 Bulldozers have huge damage and health nerf
3 Cloakers will kick you into bleedout (does not count towards custody) and you can still shoot them.
4 Tazers have a shorter range.
(Possibly edit their appearences too to be a bit more like the frequently spawning FBI (aka blue camo), also make them have a weapon power decrease (Bernetti 9 silenced for the cloaker instead of the Compact-5, Bulldozer will have a Locomotive, Tazers also a pistol and shields too.)

-Make the Insider Info Asset include some actual informations such as:
Current bank Layout
or show if there's rooftop windows or not (or when bought, rooftop windows don't appear).
or here the keycard is
or a combination of some of these.

-Ability to mark paintings with red stickers through camera feed on Framing Frame Day 1. Similair to the objects that have to be collected to Framing Frame Day 3.
-
-Rebalance Civillian whacking to get them down. Knives, tomahawks and Machetes should kill civs in one hit, but fists, brass knuckles, weapon stock, and Collapsing batton knock em down. (So that would would switch between melees in heists with and without civies. Would give you more reason to swap out once a while.)
It'd show in stats whether it can get civs down or not, civs whacked down will stay down for a longer period.

-Sharing minor items
When close to a teammate, you can give him one of your minor items, such as a Crowbar, Keycard, or body bags. Guys with Cleaner Aced can share one of their two Body Bags once the crew has run out of them, for example, so more heisters have one in case of an error/progress.
-
-"Phases" of reloading. For instance, you're reloading a KSP and get have it almost to the point where you pull back the bolt, but then you need retreat so you sprint away. Currently, you have to start all over again, but with this idea, just pull back the bolt and your done.

Of course, it wouldnt always work like that. if said KSP had been about to replace the mag when you run, you dont pick up exactly where you left off, but start putting in the clip, regardlees of the part of the "stage".
-
-Last Stand Mode: This is it. The van's destroyed and the entire city is in lockdown. There is no escape for the Payday gang and Bain signed off the radio.
- Plays on Escape Maps
- Gives money and EXP every 10 minutes of surviving
- Pro job-esque. Can not be restarted, can only be launched on Hard and above.
-
-Sentry Turrets do not shoot at you if you have a civilian following you.
-
-Randomize which bank is chosen in Firestarter Day 3.
-
-Add Forklifts to other maps where it makes sense.
-Watchdogs Day 2; 1 or 2 Forklifts in/near the warehouse
-Bomb Heist: Dockyard
-Asset for Big Oil day 2; "Wrong Delivery" places a boxed up Forklift beside the scientist's mansion for a hefty price.
-
-Ability to "fire" Twitch in the assets.
Doing so will grant you a reasonable amount of extra cash and the end of a mission that possibly has an escape. This'll also increase your chance to an escape by a huge amount.
If Twitch is fired and an escape is triggered, the escape section will be one of the crew driving and the others shooting out of the windows with the new driving mechanics, of course.
If the driver is downed by getting shot too much or the vehicle took too much damage, fail the driving section and continue with the normal on-foot escape section.

-Being abled to call converted cop AI to you, like Teammate AI.

Inventory & Skills

-A Workbench in your Safehouse that'll allow you, when activated, to go to your weapon inventory where you can modify weapons.
-
-A button in the inventory that organizes things by damage, detection rate or typ of gun.
-
-Reload times in inventory's stats on weapons.
-
-A sentry skill to turn them off yourself, like with tripmines.
-
-The extra zoom acquired by the skill Rifleman Aced can be toggled by pressing the Sprint button while aiming, pressing it again will go back to the original zoom.
-
-Give the Mastermind a skill which allows him to lead more than one hostage at a time. Two for having the skill, three for being aced. (Stockholm Syndrome?)
-
-Add a "switch color" option when choosing up a a color for the mask: basically it switches the color position on the pattern, it could add more variety to the mask customisation. (Except for the colors who have 2 of the same colors.)

-Jack of all trade skill in the Technician tree improvement:
Deploying while aiming on the ground should deploy sentry, while aiming at wall, ceiling should deploy trip mine. You just need to make the decision which item to place at the start of the interaction. That way you could even place mines on the floor (not that you often need to do that) by starting the interaction on a wall and using the deploy time to put it on the floor.

-An infobox in the Skills & Perks category where you can see all your character's skills, like this:
Dodging: +15%
Acuracy with pistols: +10%
Damage with pistols: +50%
Critical hit chance: +12%
...

-Change the Jack of All Trades skill to:
Removes your Tripmine equipment and moves it into your grenade slot.
It'll cost you your grenades but you'll get an extra +3 Tripmines.
You'll ofcourse, just like the normal skill, be abled to carry both equipments.

-Be abled to replicate DLC masks for a hefty cost.
-
-Display a playing card in the lobby/loadout phase with the respective logo of a perk deck that player has chosen, if the deck is completed it'll be bright white, if uncompleted it'll be grayed out and slightly see-through.

General Improvement

-Giving your Lobby a name. It'll give you alot of options for such a small change, for example you can give your lobby a [Stealth] or [Loud] tag.
-
-Simplified Crime.net outlay option.
-
-An icon that'll display when someone is talking over mic.
Payday: The Heist had it too.
-
-Abled to put a language / country tag or icon (flag) for your hosted game.
-
-Selecting weapons by scrolling on your mouse. Make it an option, because it could be quite clumsy for the people who're used to the old system.
-
-Being able to choose your character while in lobbies. (If the character you want hasn't been selected yet, ofcourse.)
-
-When a team member is on his last down (aka has a grey screen) he'll call out for a medipack and gets a(n skull) icon above his head / name.
-
-Characters have set colors instead of the first 4 colors.
-
-Option to lower the quality of light effects.
-
-Option to disable the Ambient Occlusion.

-A vote skip to skip the XP and Money gotten by pressing spacebar while its still going. (3 Votes atleast needed to skip)

-Players say the loot bag secured lines in all heists that make use of securing loot. (The lines from Election Day.)

-Firestarter Day 3: Rather than being just the Bank Heist map, it might also be GO Bank, or Election day bank, since day 2 is all about figuring out where the mendoza's money is.
(GO Bank would require some rework in the Vault to fit the money pile or just simply have a smaller money pile.)

-When answering a pager, block others from using that pager and change the outline colour when answering.
-
-When you're in a lobby not hosted by you, add the ability to open Crime.net just to see your Gage Package Progress and Mission Progress. Also being abled to suggest heists.
-
-When modifying a weapon always show its current total stats. Now it only shows the stats of equipped and selected mod.
-
-Add extra audio lines to diamond store. It feels quiet in terms of Bain shouting at us. Also the only way of knowing there is an alarm on the display cases is by reading the text at the beginning, as Bain gives no warning about it and also says nothing once it has been disabled.

-Option to disable Chromatic Abberation.

-Abled to shoot through AI Teammates.

-Add a way to filter multiple difficulty levels and contracts at the same time, example: "Bank Heist Overkill + DeathWish"

-Have interacting with a zipline take 0.5 seconds instead of instantly to prevent accidental use.

-Lower the amount of favors (to 4?) for the cost of the Escapes "C4 Tunneling" and "Elevator Trick" take in Big Bank. Bus Stop is the best one because of the least amount of distance you have to go through, Elevator Trick is a bit more distance, where the cops can arrive earlier. C4 Tunneling is way harder because of the amount of snipers, where as Bus Stop is close and more defendable.

-An option to configure what character you would like to play from most wanted to least. For example just to number them from 1 to [insert current character count here]. 1 isn't available, you'll get nr. 2, 2 not available, you'll get nr. 3 etc.
-
-Let Bain announce on every heist possible when the security cameras guy has been killed.
-
-Being abled to switch your skillset on the first day of contracts in the Loudout phase.
-
-A vote-to-pause option that can be started by anyone. Host vote counts as 1.5.

-Save crime.net filters you put in. Point out that the filters get saved as a tutorial for newer players in case they forget to change it.

-Pressing space near a ladder will lock you on, and only when pressing space again it'll drop you off.

-Make sidejob rewards follow the same rule of not giving you certain weapon mod if you already have 2 of them. If you already have 2 or above of all weapon rewards possible, it'll be overwritten.

-Make Butcher's Free Weapon Mod DLC (from the Hypetrain) also drop from the PAYDAY cards.

-Left Handed viewmodels.

-Stick to the ground when running off stairs.

Giving your lobby a name sounds just about simple enough to be added yet having some good possibilities as you said. And rearranging inventory should be in.

Uhm, that's a bit off-topic I think, but a simplicified server list could be an usefull option for some people that don't like Crime.net's lay-out.

These are wonderful suggestions. I'm all for 'em.
Expanding on 9, I think they should add more songs too. The soundtrack's too good not to get more love from overkill, and the ones we have are too few. They'll get repetitive quick without some more variation.

Also, while you're suggesting a VTK, why not a voteban?
Should have requirements or something that way people won't use it over votekick. Maybe require the player to be kicked once or twice or something, since if they're kicked multiple times then they're probably warranting a ban.

People and Hosts will most likely pick Instant kick over Votekick.
But when you kick someone the player whose kicked already can't join the lobby anymore.
